Search results mix them together, which is why shortlists often contain products that were never comparable. Private PG and hostel software is bought by an owner and built around monthly rent. College hostel ERP is bought by an institution and adds attendance, mess and gate passes. Hotel PMS is built around nightly stays and OTA channels. Only the first group is a real alternative to the others in it.
The table below will not decide for you, because the deciding factors are rarely on a feature list.
There is no single best one; it depends on size. RentOk is the most established and has an iOS app. Flat-rate plans like Hostel Manager at ₹99 and My PG Manager at ₹159 are cheapest above roughly ten tenants. Per-occupied-tenant pricing such as Hostel Mitra suits smaller or seasonal properties. ManagR is free.
Anyone who answers this question without asking how many beds you run is selling you something.
ManagR is free. Among paid options, Hostel Manager at ₹99 a month plus GST is the cheapest flat rate we found. Per-occupied-tenant pricing is cheaper than either below roughly five to eight occupied tenants, and more expensive above that. Cost depends on your occupancy, not your bed count.
